Senior Analyst - Real Estate Development
About the Job
Our client is a leading, nationwide multi-family residential investment and property management firm headquartered in Sherman Oaks, California. This is a rapidly growing company with a fabulous opportunity for the right candidate.
The Financial Analyst/Senior Accountant is responsible for the preparation of financial statements and analysis of portfolio operational and financial performance.
Principal Tasks
· General ledger account analysis including journal entries to correct immediate issues as they pertain to financial statements.
· Analysis of all General ledgers accounts to determine and verify correct postings by various departments.
· Monthly preparation of financial statements including conducting market research.
· Financial Statement analysis including identifying operational inefficiencies and proposing solutions in addition to trend analysis and budget comparison analysis.
· Budgeting and Forecasting for properties. Includes portfolio wide projections and re-forecasting as needed.
· Prepare and maintain balance sheet schedules as needed.
· Other special projects as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
· MUST HAVE a solid accounting and analytical skills
· MUST HAVE a solid understanding of financial statements
· Excellent communication skills
· Ability and desire to work in a team environment
· Efficient problem solving skills including the ability to see big picture concepts
REQUIRED Qualifications and Experience
· Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting or Finance
· 2-5 years experience in an accounting related field
· Real Estate Experience is big plus.
· MS Office knowledge and experience is required. Excel (2007 version) skills are ESSENTIAL(V looks ups, formulas, etc.)
· MRI and/or Yardi experience not required but A BIG PLUS.
