• Reconcile bank statements

• Setup client General Ledger codes and new vendors in Datafaction
• Support execution of client vendor tasks, e.g. telephone setup, billing
• Run general ledger monthly, review and pass on to account manager
• Scan, image documents and maintain electronic filing system
• Maintain Accounts Payable black books and Accounts Payable schedules

Requirements:

• High School Diploma and/or college preferred
• 2 years or more Datafaction experience

Business Management Account Manager

Job Responsibilities:

• Supervise, train and mentor bookkeeping staff
• Book investment statements and client payroll
• Act as approver in Datafaction workflow
• Review monthly and semi- annual General Ledger/Trial Balances
• Onboarding new client inclusive of recording opening Trial Balance as journal entry and reconciling bank statements
• Record purchase and refinance of client residence in Datafaction as well as purchase of client automobiles in Datafaction
• Maintain cash flow and reporting requests for clients
• Provide back-up coverage for the Account Managers as needed
• Process Accounts Payable and Cash Receipts when bookkeeper is out
• Coordinate and complete client loan applications and give to senior accountant for final review
• Work closely with accounting department to ensure clean and accurate books
• Create commission reconciliation schedules for non-touring clients

Requirements:

• High School Diploma and/or college preferred
• 5 years or more Datafaction experience

• Record label administration and licensing copyright registration
• Royalty statement analysis and audit analyiss support
• Prepare complex artist, producer, publisher, profit participation and mechanical statements

• Review of contracts and licenses to ensure that reported royalties are accurate
• Liaise with Account Managers within the Firm to accomplish shared goals in a professional and diplomatic manner

Job Responsibilities:

• Work with staff of bookkeepers and accountants that are performing the following functions:
• Recording of cash receipts and disbursements
• Manage bank reconciliations
• Reconciliation of broker and trustee statements
• Maintenance of supporting schedules and work papers
• Coordination with payroll service and employee benefit providers
• Monthly and year end closings, including journal entries
• Preparation of monthly financial reports
• Train and develop staff as well as provide informal and formal feedback regarding their performance
• Work in conjunction with tax department on year round tax planning
• Review corporate, partnership, and individual income tax returns
• Review and maintain budgets and client relations
• Keep partners updated about the status of the engagement

Requirements:

• Datafaction and QuickBooks experience a plus
• Experience with accounting related software desired (i.​e.​ CCH Prosystem Engagement, Prosystems Tax)
• Computer literacy, including strong excel skills
• Ability to work within a team environment, and lead a client service team
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a tax role
• Business management or family office firm experience is a plus
• Must have managed a team responsible for tour accounting

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree or MS in accounting

The Counter Offer: Blessing or Curse?

It’s like the moment right before the fight begins when the two contestants are circling around each other, staring into their opponents eyes, trying to psyche each other out. Our client, a local CPA Firm in West LA, is looking for a seasoned tax professional to review high net worth corporate and partnership tax returns. Our client is looking for an individual who can provide 24-32 hours per week.

Requirements:

• Salary will be based on experience and will range from 45-65 per hour
• Hours will be flexible and based on candidates ideal schedule
• Ideal candidate should have hands on Tax Preparation and Tax Review experience in a local, regional, or National CPA firm
• Candidate should have exposure to either Lacerte of ProFX
• Firm has client base which includes many closely held businesses as well as individuals and partnerships
• Candidates should have experience in preparing all of above as well as some exposure to Estate and Trust Taxes
