Tax Senior - National Real Estate Firm



Tax Senior

Location: Thousand Oaks
Industry: Real Estate

Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
                                                                   
  • Preparation of the federal and state income tax returns related corporations, partnerships, limited liability companies and real estate investment trust (REIT) returns on a timely basis.
  • Prepares federal and state extension requests and quarterly estimated payments for the various companies.
  • Substantial interaction with accounting and other finance departments especially in regards to data collection.
  • Research various tax issues, including complex partnership, REIT and state tax laws.
  • Prepares projections of taxable income and earnings and profits in order to determine the required REIT distribution.
  • Prepares the REIT quarterly checklist in order to ensure compliance with the REIT tax rules.
  • Reviews corporate and partnership legal documents and correspondence as needed to ensure correct preparation of tax returns.
  • Assist in the accumulation of requested information and review of proposed audit adjustments by IRS and state and local taxing authorities.
  • Perform Special Projects as assigned.

Skills/Qualifications:                    

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related.
  • CPA License (or CPA Candidate) preferred.
  • Two to four years of relevant work experience including tax reporting responsibilities for Real Estate Investment Trusts, complex partnerships and or real estate entities.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience with Big 4 or Regional public accounting firm.
  • Demonstrate strong research, including written documentation skills.
  • Strong computer skills (Excel and Word) and experience with tax preparation and research programs (i.e., Prosystems, CCH).

Salary: 

60,000 - 70,000
